"Unbreakable Machine-Doll" is originally a light novel by author Kaito Reiji and illustrator, Ruroo, published by Media Factory under the MF Bunko J label.

Full of mystery and intrigue, this is one fast-paced edge-of-your-seat battle-action anime with an eclectic cast of characters that just oozes appeal.

Unbreakable Machine-Doll
[INTRODUCITON]
The story is set in Liverpool, England, where an emerging field known as “machinart” is at its height of prosperity. A student from Japan named Akabane Raishin has come to England, to the Walpurgis Royal Academy of Machine Arts to study this emerging field that combines magic with mechanics. Raishin is also accompanied by a girl named Yaya, who also happens to be his automaton (mechanical puppet). In the academy, Raishin is selected to take part in a combat tournament exclusive to the top 100 students and battle it out to try and obtain the title of “Wiseman,” the greatest of all machinart puppeteers. All desperate to earn the top spot, the students and their automata compete in this machine-magic battle royal that’s bound to keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way through!

The series is directed by Yoshimoto Kinji ("Queen’s Blade: Exiled Warrior") and written by Kakihara Yuko ("Chihayafuru 2"), with character designs by Watanabe Atsuko (“Jewelpet Happiness”). Lerche, the studio behind this anime adaptation, was formed by former anime production company staff who had since left to pursue solo careers, and while they may still be an up-and-coming studio in the industry, their fine attention to detail in their productions has won them high praise from anime fans, even being heralded "the next Kyoto Animation."

The voice over cast includes Shimono Hiro as the lead role of Akabane Raishin and Harada Hitomi as the heroine, Yaya.

This anime will be on TV from October 7th.
