I was introduced to the world of picture books through one of the clubs that I joined at university.　I even took a class called "Appreciating Picture Books" and was irreversibly drawn into these colorful fantasies. I have been hooked on picture books and have been collecting them ever since.

I feel the Japanese picture book industry is flourishing. MOE is a genuine magazine that goes through and keeps enthusiasts up-to-date on picture books and the SEVEN ELEVEN convince store publishes picture books under the title of "Ponoron" every other month.

These kind of books transcend age and there are no hard-and-fast rules -- they can be enjoyed by anyone! I think it is wonderful to see the world through picture books and use it as an opportunity to reflect upon yourself and everything around you.
