Taking in the Cuisine of Fukuoka!
Fukuoka has so many famous delicious foods! I tucked into some motsu-nabe (a stew containing offal) and tonkotsu ramen (ramen noodles in a pork broth).
It was my first time eating the real thing and I loved them both!

Fukuoka's Local Dish: Motsu-nabe
I tried out “motsu-nabe” for the first time, it's a stew dish containing offal. In Korea we usually fry or grill offal. Coming to Fukuoka and eating motsu-nabe was a new sensation for me. It was really delicious, I just dug in and kept eating. Next time I'm in Fukuoka I'm definitely having motsu-nabe.

Fukuoka's Famous Yattais and their Tokotsu Ramen
That's not all, I went to a yattai (outdoor food stall) too! I gave Fukuoka's famous tonkotsu ramen a try. To be honest, I used to struggled with tonkotsu ramen. I thought it was too oily. But the ramen I tried at the yattai was absolutely delicious! Really, I was so surprised. I basically cleaned out the bowl. I never thought I would end up liking tonkotsu ramen as much as this.
In Korea there are lots of yattais so I'm pretty used to them, but in Fukuoka I could take in the relaxing atmosphere and have a good time together with my interpreter. It's kind of like, while you can say Korean people are well-acquainted with yattais, in Japan you can really feel the atmosphere. It was another wonderful experience for me.

Watching your Manners and Having Fun at the Yattai
A yattai isn't like a normal restaurant, they only have around 10 seats so when new customers come you have to move up to let them sit down. And since there are people lining up in front of the yattai you can't stay too long, you have to be polite and give up your seat to the next person when you finish. Let's all be polite and considerate while enjoying Fukuoka's yattais!
