A special event was held on Wednesday 6th November to turn on the "Hikari no Machi HAKATA" Christmas lights. The plaza in front of Hakata Station hosts this large-scale attraction every year, drawing in huge crowds in the process. Singer-songwriter 山崎まさよし (Yamazaki Masayoshi) made a guest appearance at this year's ceremony and told the crowd, "this is the first time I've been involved in something like this!" Yamazaki went on to perform, in front of approx. 7,000 spectators, an awesome three song set, which included the massive hit "One more time, One more chance!" He also sang "Kagefumi." The track will be used as the theme song for the movie "Kagefumi," which will be released nationwide on November 15th 2019. The final song he performed was "Serori (celery)." The bright, glittering illuminations provided the perfect backdrop for Yamazaki's heart touching vocals! A newly remodeled 15 meters tall tree has been installed at the venue. There are so many great photo opportunities! The "Flower Tiara" and "Bouquet of Light" attractions look great on camera! A "Christmas Market" will also be set up in JR Hakata Station Square from Tuesday 12th November to Wednesday 25th December 2019.
