#6 Fans Scream for An Cafe. Building Bridges at South America’s Biggest Otaku Event, “Anime Friends”(2/3)

popculturechronicles
The main stage at Anime Friends is outdoors. It had been raining on and off the entire day of the concert but stopped come stage time. The concert went for approximately 90 minutes and the packed out crowed cheered and screamed from start to finish.
I had to take photos of the performance so I spent most of the concert watching on from the space in between the fans and the stage, but I doubt there would be a single Japanese person who wouldn’t be moved by the sight of all the Brazilian fans singing along in Japanese with tears streaming down their face.
Japan and Brazil are at opposite ends of the earth. It may be far away, but through their concert they were able to build a sizable bridge linking the two nations together.
