What's K-ON!...?(2/3)

One secret behind the popularity of "K-ON!" is the individual personalities of all of the characters. "Who's your favorite in the group?" is a question fans love to ask other fans. There are a lot of girls to choose from but they all have their particular charms which makes it so hard to pick a favorite! - Just another fun aspect to this great series.
Members of K-ON Club band "Hokago Tea Time"

Yui Hirasawa (Voiced by: Aki Toyosaki)
Lead guitar and vocals. She had no previous experience with music prior to entering high school and mistakenly joined the "K-ON club" thinking that she'd get to play "light music" and have a relaxing high school club life. At that point the club was short a lead guitarist and so started to learn guitar to fill the role almost by default. Yui has a very relaxed personality and does everything at her own pace.

Mio Akiyama (Voiced by: Yoko Hikasa)
Bassist. Left-handed. She joined the K-ON club with long time friend, Ritsu. While she may always look cool, calm and collected, she's really quite the bashful schoolgirl. Initially, she wanted to join the literature club and as a payoff took the role of head lyricist for K-ON club's songs. Her song lyrics are generally overflowing with girlishness.

Ritsu Tainaka (Voiced by: Satomi Sato)
Drummer and president of the K-ON club. Ritsu had long wanted to join the K-ON club and along with Mio, Mugi and Yui, joined the club just in time to prevent it from being disbanded. In a word, her personality seems very rough, but she's actually extremely thoughtful and is the mood-maker in the group. She's very much a central figure in the club.

Tsumugi Kotobuki (Voiced by: Minato Kotobuki)
Keyboardist. She had initially intended on joining the choir club but was instead persuaded by Ritsu into joining K-ON. Mugi has been playing piano ever since she was a child and uses that experience to perform the role of head song writer for the club. The expensive tea-sets, the tea and sweets used and eaten at tea-time are all items she brought from home herself. Judging by her elegance and quiet disposition, you wouldn't be mistaken for thinking she's a well-mannered girl from a rather wealthy family.

Azusa Nakano (Voiced by: Ayana Taketatsu)
Rhythm guitarist and youngest member of the club. Azusa joined the K-ON club after seeing the band perform for a ceremony to welcome new students. She has a very serious personality and at first she would often get irritated with the other members' lack of effort with practice. However, she eventually comes to terms with their way of doing things and begins to realize the fun of music. She's an extremely gifted guitarist.
"Hokago Tea Time"'s Main Supporters

Sawako Yamanaka (Voiced by: Asami Sanada)
Music teacher at Sakuragaoka Girl's High School and overseer of the K-ON club. She also happens to be a past member of the K-ON club herself, forming a heavy metal band called "Death Devil" back in her heyday. She has a penchant for making dresses and costumes and enjoys making the girls in K-ON club wear her creations.

Nodoka Manabe (Voiced by: Chika Fujito)
A childhood friend of Yui's. Her ability to oversee all of Yui's air-headed behavior and deflect all her comments with a serious face is proof of a long friendship. She was involved in the student council as a freshman but in her third year of high school takes over the role of president of the council.

Ui Hirasawa (Voiced by: Madoka Yonezawa)
Yui's younger sister (by 1 year) and a good friend of Azusa. Ui is mature, with polite manners, good grades and takes care of most of the house work as well. She's good at just about everything. Ui loves her big sister and does just about everything for her. She looks just like Yui and if she does her hair the same way nobody can tell the difference between them.
