The design on this cover includes the tree of the town, the "Pine," the town's symbol "Tamaru-kun (a tadpole)," as well as the words "MIZUMA" and "Kurume-shi kansen."

This is a sewage pipe manhole cover from the old town of Tanushimaru. The design features a Kappa (creature from Japanese folklore) surrounded by special products from the area such as grapes and kaki (persimmon). The text that is visible reads "Kurume-shi" and "Osui (sewage)."

The design in this cover depicts Minourenzan (mountaineous area in Kurume) in the background, with the flower of the city, the "Azalea" on either side of the Chikugo River in the foreground. The words "Kurume-shi" and "Osui (sewage)" are also featured. (Sewage pipe manhole cover)

This design depicts the area that used to be known as Kitano-machi. "Cosmos" are featured in the cover, which were the former town's flower, as is the Chikugo River. The words "Kurume-shi" and ”Osui (sewage)" also appear in this design. (Sewage pipe manhole cover)

A depiction of Kurume-gasuri (a textile which is both a Jyuyo Mukei Bunka-zai,* as well as a local traditional craft) can be seen on this cover alongside the flower of the city, the "Azalea." A chain-like pattern is featured in the surrounding frame. The text that is visible reads "Kurume-shi" and "Osui (sewage)." (Sewage pipe manhole cover)
* As designated by the Japanese government, Jyuyo Mukei Bunka-zai (Important Intangible Cultural Property) is a title awarded to cultural properties (forms of drama, music, or craft techniques) of high artistic value.

Situated in the center of the oni-gawara (demon-shaped decorative roof ornaments) and saka-daru (sake barrells), is the mascot of the town, a character called "Ingatto-kun (a type of magpie)." The text "Kurume-shi" and "Osui (sewage)" is featured at the bottom.
