Blythe and BE@RBRICK and ・・・???!!!(2/3)

It is an ad for Blythe, a doll that went on sale in America in 1972.

It was a flop and production was canned within a year. However, in 2000 Gina Garan published a photo collection and the Japanese department chain PARCO used Blythe in their advertising, igniting its popularity in Japan. From there the popularity of Blythe began to cross borders.
From Japan the Blythe boom travelled to Thailand. The figurine shop in the Siam district of Bangkok is packed full of Blythe dolls.
Not just Blythe, but BE@RBRICK as well.

BE@RBRICK is a teddy figurine produced by Medicom Toy Co.
There are quite a number of limited edition BE@RBRICK lines produced in collaboration with artists and corporations.
The Bangkok Art and Culture Center opened in 2008. It is the largest such Art center in Thailand – a place where you can see the cutting edge art scene.

He is here too!

Larger than life.
