A heart touching fantasy that explores the friendship that blossoms between a scarecrow and a young junior high school student!

"ほとめくかかし" (Hotomeku Kakashi) is a manga set in Nokonoshima! The story was created by Fukuoka-native Tatsuhiko and will be serialized in the "Monthly BIG GANGAN!" The first installment comes out on Wednesday 25th December! The story takes place in Nokonoshima, an island that is approx. 10 minute boat ride away from Fukuoka City. The heart touching fantasy focuses on the relationship between Elza, a mysterious scarecrow who awakens from a long sleep, and a junior high school student living on Nokonoshima called 雨守朋 (Amemori Tomo). Elza works at "Nokonoshima Island Park," a popular tourist spot located on the north side of the island. The park is full of seasonal flowers that come into bloom at different times of the year. There's no doubt that the real-life site will soon become a mecca for all the people who are going to read "Hotomeku Kakashi!" By the way... Did you know that "hotomeku" means "motenasu" (to be welcoming or hospitable) in the Fukuoka dialect? We can't wait to find-out how the plot unfolds in this exciting new manga! (Editorial Dept.: nika)
