Essential item for cosplay – a wig!
As you can see from our event “asianbeat Festa Vol 3 – Cosplay and Dojin Flea Market”, cosplay has traveled from Japan and become a world phenomenon.
Many cosplayers compete buying and making costumes of their favourite characters.
They then display their “creations” at events and on web sites, and the quality is improving all the time.

Cosplay – a tool for communication transcending generations

Cosplay has no age limit
Any given anime character can be popular among high school students, employees, housewives, people from all walks of life. Cosplayers in their thirties and forties are not unusual. We even see kids and their parents cosplaying, and there are some mothers who even take the trouble to make costumes for their own children
Cosplay has no genre
Just because the genre is different it doesn’t mean that the cosplayers can’t communicate.
It goes beyond the genre of “I wanted to do that character” or “I’ve already done that”.
Cosplay has no nationality
Cosplayers use the net to exchange ideas and have their own community, so there is no difference between Japan and abroad, cosplay conquers the language barrier.
Cosplay is a worldwide communication tool.

Number of characters = Number of wigs
The trend in cosplay fashion changes every six months.
Of course there are some constant favourites, however, the change in trends is dynamic.
There are some who will only do the same character for three times.
When you change your character, of course you need to change your wig.. There are many cosplayers whose number of characters is equal to the number of wigs they have.
Some cosplayers have 20 – 30 wigs, and in Fukuoka alone there are thirty such people.
Everyday wig
Perhaps you are thinking that a wig is only for people who are cosplaying?
In fact, wigs are also popular among office workers and shop assistants.
Setting you hair in the morning is easy, just put on your wig. Tie it up or wear it straight in an instant. You may have short hair that can become really long. It is easy to enjoy a number of different hairstyles that look great!
