LinQ Ami Himesaki: Talk and Q&A!(2/4)
I think that Motsu nabe might be the dish that's Fukuoka's real claim to fame!
ab: Well then, if it’s alright with you we wanted to spend a bit of time speaking about Fukuoka. Ami, you were born and raised in Fukuoka, right?
Himesaki:That’s true. I was born and raised in Fukuoka and still live in Fukuoka now. I’m not a good flyer, but I do my best as I have to come up to Tokyo regularly.
ab: So, are there any shops in Fukuoka that you would recommend?
Himesaki:When I first started at elementary school I got a point-card at "Mandarake" (a retail chain that sells anime and manga-related products). It was in a really busy part of Fukuoka and really stood out, and when I would take the really narrow escalator up to the store I would get so excited seeing all the items and products they had!

ab: Ah, we see! asianbeat runs a section on the website called “Fukuoka Otaku Map,” there’s lots of otaku shops in the North Tenjin part of town, isn't there?!
Himesaki: I'm often in shops like "Toy Collector." I also go to "Tora no ana" on the Oyafuko Street. I would recommend going to places where you can relax and be yourself.

ab: On the topic of Fukuoka, you can find a lot of good food, can’t you? Ami, what’s your favorite Fukuoka delicacy?
Himesaki:Motsu nabe! I think that Motsu nabe might be the dish that's Fukuoka's real claim to fame! Also, fish in Fukuoka is really fresh. When people first try food in Fukuoka they always say “Fukuoka food is so delicious!” It's something that Fukuoka natives love to hear!
ab: Talking of highlights in Fukuoka, we can't forget about LinQ's live shows!
Himesaki:Every Saturday and Sunday on the 11th floor of Best Denki in Tenjin, in the “Best Hall” we do 2 live shows, one from 12pm and one from 4pm. We always put on about 4 live performances every weekend each month, so please come along and check us out!
