[Special Feature] The 1st "MCPO AWARD 2017" - Report from the public screening of applicants works! (3/17)
Public screening 1st Session - Illustration section -
The highly respected and extremely popular illustrators Haruhiko Mikimoto and Reine Hibiki presided over the illustration section. The guests listened intently to the careful and considered advice given to each piece of work.

Haruhiko Mikimoto

Reine Hibiki

From left: "Guide" by 朱利亚 Julia (Malaysia), "SAVIORS OF CHRISTMAS?" by SLUSHYSASH (overseas)
These two overseas entries caught our attention; their character's unique expressions are a little different to what you see in a Japanese piece of work. Below are a couple of remarks from the two judges!
(Mikimoto) "I think the kind of skill you see in both of these works is not seen so much in Japan, it's unique to overseas drawing styles. I think that with Julia's work, the central character's stance would totally transform if given a slightly protruding chin and twisted neck."
(Hibiki) (Referencing SLUSHYSASH's work) "The faces have personality and individuality, they’re really interesting. I would like a slightly more distinctive leading character, but it’s very cute!"
