Charmy (王毓謙) [Taiwan Kawaii Ambassador, 2010]

In 2010 I was selected as an asianbeat Kawaii Ambassador. There are not many contests where courage alone will you get the chance to stand on a runway. This kind of thing is particularly rare in Taiwan. I did not think I would be selected, but there was a small voice inside me telling me to give it a go, even if I didn’t get selected it would not do my any harm, so I decided to challenge myself.
After that it went smoothly, I got selected and I was able to participate in Fukuoka Asia Collection (FACo) in Fukuoka! This was a trigger that brought about a big change in my life.

At that time, I was not able to speak Japanese, so there was a person to translate for me. I could feel that I was somewhat of an inconvenience, so when I returned to Taiwan I began trying my hardest to study Japanese. Now, I am able to communicate with Japanese people!
I really loved the feeling of walking on the FACo runway. I wore that years most fashionable clothes, and there was such a wonderful atmosphere up there, from that time I also have been able to have the confidence to enjoy modeling as a job.
Since returning to Taiwan, I have tried to continue working as a model. I cannot say that I am a very famous model, but I get to wear kawaii(cute) clothes and unique outfits, I have saved my style (modeling/fashion) photographs and that is more than enough! During my youth I have made many great memories.
In September last year, a huge event called Tokyo Crazy Kawaii was held in Taipei. I also participated there and was able to talk to everyone about Harajuku culture. I was able to stand on the runway together with some really popular models; it was such a fun time.
I am so grateful to asianbeat for giving me such a precious opportunity. Thanks to asianbeat I was able to have this special experience, broaden my worldview, shine on stage, I know there was a lot preparation that got me there. Because of this, I was able to show the most beautiful version of myself to everyone. I am going to continue to do my best, thank you so much!
