Dollfie Dream (ドルフィー ドリーム)

I first found out about Dollfie Dream dolls from Danny Choo's blog and decided to buy it on my next trip to Japan. Since there was no “Dolls Party” event happening when I went to Japan, I went to the Lashinban store in Osaka and bought a second hand Estel Dollfie Dream for 55,000 yen. The box was quite thin and long, so it was a bit tricky and expensive sending it back to Australia. The outfit was bought on Yahoo Auctions Japan for about 8000 Yen and the wig was bought from a specialist doll store in Hong Kong for about 2500 Yen.

Our 17th guest on Otakus @ Home is such a fan of Japanese anime and games that he devoted six years to the study of Japanese language, eventually leading to the acquisition of level 1 (the highest level) of the Japanese language proficiency test. Thanks to the popular "Enso shite mita" section on Nico Nico Douga, he has even taken up playing piano and violin. One look at his room and you can tell how much respect he has for otaku culture. But for an otaku living outside of Japan, such a lifestyle doesn't come cheap! Otaku goods are more difficult to acquire in Australia, so he orders many of his items online, which also incurs expensive shipping fees. He also tries to visit Japan once a year to immerse himself in the culture as well as take part in anisong concerts and various events like Comiket (Comic Market). When he comes to Japan he fills a box (about 20kg worth) with manga and light novels and sends them via sea mail back to Australia! It's so great to find someone living outside of Japan with such a passion for otaku culture!

We've now hit a total of 36,541,800 Yen!! We know you’re out there otakus! Keep your applications coming!

Only 6,348,200 Yen to go until we hit 10 million!!
