The Food in Sao Paulo

“When I came back from Brazil, people kept telling me that I’d changed somehow, and while I don’t really feel it myself, I feel re-energized and look forward to being on stage again, and that feeling is something that the people of Brazil probably gave to me.”
Kikkawa had a jam-packed 3-night, 7-day schedule, but says she enjoyed every moment and wants to visit even more countries around the world now.
“I want to go everywhere. I’m the type to sacrifice sleeping time in the name of having fun.
It’s a great feeling when you’re trying to communicate in a foreign language and it gets through to the other person, and it’s a feeling that I could definitely get used to.”

Here is an idol creating channels of cultural diplomacy all on her own.
With each journey she takes, another bridge between Japan and the world will form.
Kikkawa will also be joining me at Japan Pop Culture Carnival, the event that I produce, where she’ll stand on stage and perform with various other likeminded Japanese artists.

We just missed each other in Sao Paulo but I hope that one day we get to work side-by-side, overseas or otherwise. It’s a long way to Brazil from Japan, but the distance that Kikkawa and I feel from them on an emotional level is not far away at all. And I believe that that’s a feeling we can feel for each other all over the world.
