#24 OTAKU SUMMIT SPECIAL LIVE in Makuhari Messe – The World’s Otaku in a Frenzy for “Last Boss” Sachiko Kobayashi! (3/3)

A lot of members of the parties from overseas events who took part in the IOEA inaugural meeting also came to see the concert. I saw a bunch of them screaming out from the front of the stage, but what I couldn’t see was a group of my foreign otaku friends at the very back getting their wotagei on (I saw the footage on a Japanese TV program a few days later). They keep up to date on all the latest information coming out of Japan via the internet, but it’s at events like this that you realize the real significance and importance of sharing an actual physical space like this with otaku from all over the world.

Every concert is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Each and every moment is invaluable.
The possibility that these same members will ever perform together again on the same stage is extremely slim. It was the kind of concert that as emcee I couldn’t help but dream how great it would be if some day all the members could travel the world together, spending time with otaku across the globe.
I have posted a number of photos from Otaku Summit Special Live to give you all an idea of the vibe of the event.
I guess my article this time around was a little different than usual, written from my viewpoint as emcee on stage.
To the people who came out for the concert, I hope to see you all again some day soon.
