The "Agano-yaki Tanabata Tea Ceremony" was held in the "FUKUOKA YOKAMON HIROBA"!

On the 11th floor of the Fukuoka Prefecture, the "FUKUOKA YOKAMON HIROBA" re-opened!
The 11th floor of the Fukuoka Prefecture, had until recently been functioning as a local product and tourism exhibition room, promoting goods made in the Fukuoka local area, as well as Fukuoka Prefecture tourism, but underwent an exciting renovation and re-opened as the "FUKUOKA YOKAMON HIROBA" in April 2015!

The "Yokamon Cafe" is a place where visitors can relax and take things easy, as well as an exhibition corner where you can really get a feel for traditional crafts. And that's not all... There is also a mini-stage and a multi-purpose function room that can be used for other events taking place in the venue! At the commemorative ceremony Governor Ogawa made some opening remarks, commenting that "we hope that many people will come and enjoy, there are so many kinds of charming traditional handicrafts that Fukuoka can be proud of, and tourist spots for people to experience."

As a related project, an exhibit entitled "Inheritance and Variations of Agano-yaki" will be held in the "FUKUOKA YOKAMON HIROBA" until Friday 24 July, and during this period the "Agano-yaki Tanabata Tea Ceremony" took place on Tuesday 7 July. This tea ceremony, originating in Fukuchi, was conducted on YOKAMON HIROBA's mini-stage. A perfect fit for a hot day, cold matcha was served in Agano-yaki. In the coming days asianbeat will be posting a more detailed photo-report about "Fukuoka Yokamon Hiroba," so be sure to keep an eye out! (Editorial: 93a)
