The international manga event that started in Tokyo in 2012 is coming to Fukuoka! The "Kaigai Manga Festa (Tokyo International Comic Festival) in Kitakyushu" will be held in Kyushu's biggest pop-culture event, the "Kitakyushu Pop Culture Festival" from Saturday November 10th and Sunday 11th!

This event is planned to have live talk shows with Kitakyushu related Sci-fi manga legend, Leiji Matsumoto and Brazil national manga artist, Mauricio de Sousa, French comic artist Tony Valente, creator of "Radiant" series that will have its animated series be broadcast in Japan in October and Yusuke Murata, artist in charge for "EYESHIELD 21" and "ONE PUNCH MAN"! A plentiful program that manga fans will enjoy such as live drawings from Andrew Griffith (America) who works on the "Transformer" series and Juan Albarran (Spain) who worked on "Injustice League" and much more! In the 'ARTIST ALLEY' corner, you can have the chance to talk with artist who work around the world! "KITA-Q COMIC Artist in Residence" the supporting international comic creators program invites Andrew Griffith and Juan Albarran to Kitakyushu to stay and work there from November 9th (FRI) to 22nd (THU) with 'NCB Machikado Gallery' (Kitakyushu city Kokura kita-ku Kajicho) for there center of production. They will have a live drawing at the "Kaigai Manga Festa in Kitakyushu" on 11th (SUN), a workshop at 'TANGA table' (Kitakyushu city Kokura kita-ku Bashaku), and hold workshops throughout schools within the city.

A home of many famous manga artists, Kitakyushu City (Fukuoka Prefecture) is offering a unique opportunity to interact with popular domestic/international manga artists! Definitely come check out the appeals of manga from around the world at the event! Also, nearby is the Kitakyushu Manga Museum, so be sure to check it out! (Editorial department: GON)
