Kyushu International Art Camp 2019
Everyone, what comes to mind when speaking of "art"? Probably, there are many who think of it as something that has nothing to do with themselves, and the hurdles to which are a little high. This August, "Kyushu International Art Camp 2019" will be held here in Fukuoka for the first time! The artists from around the the world will be invited for a certain period of time which will give them an opportunity to interact with the locals while creating art!

15 artists, primarily from Asian countries, will gather at the former site of Sunoko Elementary School and begin their work which will be open to the public, and via workshops and talk events, deepen their exchanges with the locals. Mr Kei Yasaka, who is the chair of the executive committee of the organizer, Kyushu Art Camp, and who is also active as an artist, is preparing for the event together with the other members of the executive committee with thoughts that, "Talking about 'art', it can be thought of as something unfamiliar, but I want it to feel like something that is close to oneself."

In the time when the artists are sojourning in Fukuoka, small forms of support, such as food, transportation, and production assistants, are indispensable. They are calling for volunteer staff who are willing to shoulder, together, minor forms of support work. Interested parties, please be sure to check out the official site!
