ab: One of the the most interesting aspects of "BOCCHI THE ROCK!" is how much the four high school girls develop throughout the course of the story. If you reflect on your time as a student, how do you think you've changed? Are there any areas of your life where you can confidently say that you've really grown?

Suzushiro: I'm not shy any more! After I became a voice artist, I realized how much I enjoyed speaking to people. Now, I really like talking!

Aoyama: I became a voice artist! My passion for this world started when I was in 5th grade at elementary school. I felt like I wouldn't be able to live if I didn't become a voice artist! If I could go back and speak to the myself at that time, I'd say "don't worry, it will be alright!"

ab: The "Road to Becoming a Guitar Hero" on YouTube is linked to the show! Aoyama-san, you're learning to play the guitar for this project, right?

Aoyama: Oh yeah... It's so difficult! The kind comments people have been leaving have really helped me out :) Some people who have seen the project wrote comments online like "I'm going to start to playing the guitar, too!" When I see that sort of response, I feel that I have been able to encourage someone. That is something I find so moving!

Suzushiro: I provide the voice for Nijika, who plays the drums. I actually idolized a drummer for a while in junior high school. I wonder if it's fate or something! Now I've kind of got back into drums!

ab: A guitar is so important for Bocchi-chan! With that in mind... What is something that you think is essential... If you were on a desert island, what three items would you take with you?

Aoyama: Hmm... I would go for a smartphone, a mobile battery, and a Yogibo to relax!

Suzushiro: I know... I've got it! I would take Mizuno, Hasegawa, and Aoyama (the voice artists who play the other band members in the show)!

Aoyama: Oh wait! Why did I go for a smartphone! Oh, you got me (lol)!

ab: Oh wow! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us! Do you have a message you would like to convey to your fans inside and outside of Japan?

Aoyama: It seems that "BOCCHI THE ROCK!" has received a good reception overseas and I've heard that it's doing well in the anime rankings! Gotoh Hitori is surprisingly introverted, so I'm a bit surprised by how much people have warmed to her character! Please keep an eye on Bocchi-chan's growth. I'd love to put on an event overseas someday!
