Games influenced many cosplayers!

ab (asianbeat): What got you into cosplay?

Rikert(Korea):It all started when Caruto and I were playing video games that we were attracted to cosplay (lol)

Mizutani Rei(China):At first I played games in my circle, and I thought I might dress up as one of the games characters. When I cosplay a character I feel like I have brought them to life – it’s great fun.

Pipi Chu (Hong Kong): I got started when my friend got me to cosplay an online game character.

ab:Many of you started with games. Was there anything else that got you started?

-SZU-(Japan):Someone said that I looked like a member of a 3D idol group (I’m not saying who), and that is how I got into cosplay. I always liked manga, anime and game characters and I gradually got drawn into the scene so far that I just can’t get enough (lol).

Miyabi(Hong Kong): I am into fashion, and through cosplay I can wear so many styles, some that you wouldn’t normally wear. That’s how I got hooked.

NENEKO(Taiwan): I used to be a dojin manga artist, and when I attended dojin events dojin artist friends got me into cosplay.

Rou(Fukuoka): I have loved anime and manga ever since I was a child, and when I was in junior high school some friends invited me to an event. So I thought, if I am going to go I may as well go in cosplay. Now it is a vital part of how I express myself (lol).
Aim(Thailand): I started cosplay because I wanted to compete in an anisong contest. Then my friends said they loved my cosplay and I really got interested when I met a famous cosplayer at an event.
Yuegene Fay(Thailand): I first got into visual-kei bands’ music and I played music too. But the music on its own wasn’t enough so I started cosplay. It led me to make loads of friends and I thought it was wonderful, and have been doing it ever since. I really really love cosplay and my cosplay friends. That’s why I am so happy to meet so many at this event.

Ueda(Japan): VOCALOID got me started on cosplay. Seeing the cosplay at VOCALIOD events drew me in. My friends began to invite me to join in with them and I could express my favorite character and music. It is such fun and I haven’t stopped.
