The field of "eSports" has really exploded! It involves professional gamers battling it out in front of spectators! Huge scale "eSports" events are now held at locations all over the world, and it appears that the contests are winning over new fans all the time! Relatively new to these shores, an increasing number of people have begun to get into this new form of gaming in Japan. For the demo that was held at the KPF2017, Kyushu gamers took to the stage to face each other in the hugely popular soccer game "FIFA" and the fighting game "BLAZBLUE!" The audience was blown away by what they saw!

Mr. Okazaki spoke to us afterwards about how much the gaming industry has grown. He said, "Computer games have often been viewed negatively. For example, if you play too much, you will get told off by your parents, right? However, professional gamers can compete on a global platform, and you can even win prize money. Don't you think it sounds like a dream? I hope to be able to promote eSports. I want to talk to parents and children about the positive qualities of gaming."
