Promotional event for the play "Ginga Tetsudo (Galaxy Express) 999 GALAXY OPERA"
Some of the stars from the play "Ginga Tetsudo (Galaxy Express) 999 GALAXY OPERA,” which is set to open next June, made an appearance on the main stage. Haruka, who play the role of Maetel, was joined on stage by Kitakyushu-native Omiyanomatsu, who will be assuming the role of Shasho (the Conductor), and Kaname Ouki, who plays Queen Emeraldas.
From left: Haruka, Omiyanomatsu, Kaname Ouki, Kitakyushu City Mayor Kenji Kitahashi, Kitakyushu City Council Chairperson Shusaku Inoue, and a member of staff dressed as Maetel.
Mayor Kitahashi surprised the audience by taking to the stage dressed as Shasho (the Conductor) alongside Chairperson Inoue, who was wearing a Tetsuro Hoshino outfit. A member of staff from the Kitakyushu Manga Museum reception, who was dressed as Maetel, also made an appearance. The promotional event for the play "Ginga Tetsudo (Galaxy Express) 999 GALAXY OPERA" gave the audience the chance to see a few members of the stellar cast! We cannot wait for the new production, which will help mark 40 years since the TV anime "Ginga Tetsudo (Galaxy Express) 999" was first broadcast on television! It is also a great way to pay homage to the creator of the series Leiji Matsumoto, a manga artist who has a close personal connection to Kitakyushu City.
