[Special Feature] The 1st "MCPO AWARD 2017" - Report from the public screening of applicants works! (16/17)
Once the public screening had finished and all the experts had given their remarks, the event came to a close. Tochi Ueyama, who was on the judging panel, gave a few remarks and said "manga is a form of language that can be understood throughout the world. Through the medium of manga, I hope we can cultivate good relationships and work towards peace! That's the message I want people to take away." Kenichi Nakashima from the Fukuoka Asian Urban Research Center also spoke, summing things up by stating that "Fukuoka is now hosting entertainment-related contests in various fields, such as manga (MCPO), anime and film/video (Asia Digital Art Award) and gaming (GFF AWARD), that are really getting people excited. I hope this event will facilitate interaction and exchange between the people of Fukuoka and not just the rest of Asia, but the entire world. It would be great to see lots of people attend the award ceremony on May 14th at the Fukuoka City Museum. "
