My room mate dragged me to a college training camp for the first time. I'd always be watching movies and videos in the dorm and spending the day holed up in the library. I'd call myself a "slightly otaku-ish literature fangirl" so in real life I was always surrounded by young guys and at a loss of what to do.

When everything around me was livening up I just stared silently into my smartphone and watched anime. And then a cute guy smiled at me and struck up a conversation. When we got talking I found out he loved anime, and not just that, actually he loved everything about Japanese culture. He's the one who introduced me to asianbeat where I learned about anime, voice actors, cosplay and other genres I didn't know about before so we had even more to talk about.

After six months we started going out and now he's my beautiful boyfriend! Our first holiday abroad together was to Japan.
