Chikujo-machi [築上町]

In the center of the design you can see “Mokumoku (left)” and “Kusukusu (right),” two characters who are said to have given birth to the beautiful, rich nature that Chikujo-machi possesses. Surrounding them is a series of “azalea,” which was the former town's official flower. The words “Tsuiki” and “Osui (sewage)" are engraved at the bottom of the design. (Sewage pipe manhole cover)

This sewage pipe manhole cover depicts the former town's symbol, the tree of the former town, the “Kuro-matsu,” also known as “Black Pine”, as well as the flower of the former town, the “Ume (Plum).” The upper section depicts waves, while the lower section features the words “Shiida” and “Osui (sewage).”
