World Seifuku Project The first of a series of interviews - CONOMi（2/2）

When I was told that we were going to make the "Real EVA Seifuku", I was quaking in my boots.
ab：You’ve used the word "genuine". Speaking of that, the first segment of the World Seifuku Project - the collaboration with Evangelion - the key word is the "genuine".
Mr. Aiura：Yes. At first I was a bit nervous about a collaboration with one of Japan's most famous anime.Of course we were also excited about this great challenge, but the anxieties were greater.
When I was told that we were going to make the "Real EVA Seifuku", and everything from the color of the thread to the part material would be overseen by the director Sadamoto Yoshiyuki to make an exact replica of EVA's Seifuku in the anime and movie, I was quaking in my boots.But as a professional Seifuku creator it was a heaven-sent opportunity.So I put my pride on the line and added my Seifuku expression to the limit. And then, at last we were able to unveil the "Genuine Evangelion Seifuku".

ab：What does CONOMi have on its plate at the moment and what are your dreams for the future?
Mr. Aiura：We intend to continue to bring the typical Japanese girl's fashion style - Seifuku - to all. There will probably be imitation products and copy-cat products on the market but we will continue to bring you the real thing. You can't copy our quality or the effort we put into making these products.
And we will make a fashion category "Kawaii Trad", in which Seifuku has its roots.
In fact in mid February we will be releasing a new brand Ane CONOMi - Seifuku fashion for adults. This will be a real, big challenge for us.We want to offer Seifuku fashion for adults to wear, not for cosplay. This will be our first step toward the category “Kawaii Trad” fashion.I would like to continue to pursue Seifuku fashion, and through the World Seifuku Project, look for synergy in collaborations between Japan's own pop culture such as anime, music and other fashion.
