Tetsudo Jinja (鉄道神社 | Train Shrine)(3/5)

This jizo (bodhisattva) statue was made so that people could pray for successful recovery efforts following the Great East Japan earthquake in 2011. The "Waganse Gassho Jizo (和顔施合掌地蔵)" seen in the image was made using driftwood from Rikuzentakata, a city in Iwate Prefecture that was badly affected by the earthquake and tsunami. There is also a delightful art installation called the "Enmusbi Shichifuku Doji (縁結び七福童子)."
