#38 Juice=Juice Interview Following Their Concert in Taiwan and Hong Kong: “I Want to Bring Our Hearts Closer Together”(2/3)

I asked the girls what’s next for Juice=Juice in their preparations for future global activities. Kanazawa summed it up.
Kanazawa “Of course we have to work on our dancing, singing and speaking abilities, but I think raising our overall level is what’s most important at this stage. Up until now I’ve said how freshness is Juice=Juice’s big selling point, but newer, younger groups are forming in Hello! Project all the time, so I really feel now that freshness alone just won’t cut it. We’re currently doing the “Live Mission 220” tour, performing 220 shows around Japan, so I want to use this opportunity to raise the bar. I don’t want the people who come to our shows to just watch us with a sense of ease or peace of mind, I want to shock them, and we have to work on our performance abilities to do that.
We’ve always written about ourselves on our blogs, but only ever in Japanese, never really giving any thought to the fans overseas, which is something I regret now. We may be quite a distance apart but I hope that we can come up with some new way of communicating with each other so that at least our hearts will be closer together.”
I also asked the girls which countries they want to visit.
“I want to do a concert in the Maldives and have a live feed so that people all over the world can watch.” (Miyazaki)
“I want to visit France.” (Kanazawa)
“I want to go to England.” (Takagi)
“I want to see America and hold a concert in New York.” (Miyamoto)
“Somewhere like San Francisco.” (Uemura)
“That’s not a country (lol).” (Kanazawa)
Akari Uemura displaying her usual air-headedness to wrap things up nicely. This contrast is another one of Juice=Juice’s important charm points.
