Award ceremony for the "2nd KITAKYUSHU INTERNATIONAL MANGA COMPETITION!" Talks from famous manga artists and a TV show recording!

Four frame manga relay be featured on the TV program "Ohho - Gohho (Van Gogh) -mitai ni Iuna!! -"

The second "KITAKYUSHU INTERNATIONAL MANGA COMPETITION" was even bigger in size and scale than last year's edition! The 2017 contest was a huge triumph, welcoming 1,060 applications from 22 countries and regions across the world.
This year's awards competition also saw a new junior division established, providing young manga artists with the opportunity to spread their wings and take their first steps into the industry. A special asianbeat FUKUOKA, JAPAN award was also set up as one of the sub-categories! A ceremony will be held at RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL KOKURA on Sunday 21st January 2018 to announce the winners and celebrate the success of the competition. The event will also feature a number of talks from popular manga artists, including Fukuoka-native Tochi Ueyama, Mutsumi Hagiiwa, and Yuma Komatsu (Editorial Department at Kodansha's Weekly Morning).
The popular TVQ program "Ohho - Gohho (Van Gogh) mitai ni Iuna!! -" will be recording at the event. One of the attractions they are set to cover is going to be called "Gasaku! 4 Koma Manga-tabi" (Collaboration! Four Frame Manga Trip). This fun segment will see a group of four young manga artists improvise and take it in turns to sketch scenes for a four-frame cartoon strip.
