Kitakyushu International MANGA Festival 2017
Kitakyushu City has produced a string of talented successful manga artists over the years. The area has strong connection with the manga and anime industries to this day! Given this bond, it is no surprise that the area will play host to the "Kitakyushu International MANGA Festival 2017." The month long festival will take place inside one of the Kitakyushu Manga Museum exhibition rooms from Saturday 23rd December to Sunday 21st January 2018! If you have not been before, the museum is a great place to find-out more about the culture and magical appeal of manga!

The exhibition will feature award winning works from the "The Second KITAKYUSHU INTERNATIONAL MANGA COMPETITION!" The contest was a huge success and accepted four-frame manga strips from people all over the world. Manga books and reproductions from Taiwan, Czech Republic, and Quebec, Canada will be featured alongside the prize winning pieces of art. Visitors will get some insight into what makes a manga successful, and how creations from overseas differ to pieces produced in Japan! A number of guests have been invited to visit and give talks during festival. The award ceremony of "The Second KITAKYUSHU INTERNATIONAL MANGA COMPETITION" is also scheduled to take place on the final day, Sunday 21st January 2018! This promises to be a great opportunity for visitors to come into contact with manga from around the world and see artwork that they might not otherwise encounter! [* Bookings are required to participate in the award ceremony. Find out how to apply, HERE!] (Editorial Dept.: YF)
