"Wow, otters are such cute animals!" I grew to really love them!
ab: What are you into at the moment? Is there anything you're totally crazy about right now?
Someya: I really love otters! I'm really into Asian small-clawed otters! There's kind of an otter boom right at the moment. May 30th is now World Otter Day! There's even otter cafes now!
ab: Do you keep any as pets?!
Someya: No (lol)! I wish! But aren't they quite noisy, though?? And they also bathe in water... So I guess it would be kind of tricky...
Nakagawa: --- Searching for otters on his phone ---
Someya: I was watching a video and was suddenly like... "Wow, otters are such cute animals!" I really grew to love them!
Nakagawa: (Showing his mobile phone to Someya) Is this it?
Someya: Yeah, that's the one! They are so kawaii!! So cute!! Please check out the video!

ab: There are Asian small-clawed otters at the Fukuoka City Zoological Garden. It's so cute seeing them play around with ropes and stuff! Mr. Nakagawa, what are you into at the moment?
Nakagawa: What am I into at the moment?! What kind of category would you like me to talk about??
ab: Whatever fascinates you right now!!
Nakagawa: Well, that's going to be "laundry," then!
ab: Laundry?!

Nakagawa: Well, that's going to be "laundry," then!
ab: Laundry?!

Nakagawa: I live alone right now, and I used to find all the laundry that piled up kind of annoying... But then I started to get into different kinds of detergents. Laundry can crease when it dries, right? I am not good at ironing. I tried various things, like spraying the clothes when they are wet, but nothing seemed to work. Then I happened to watch a TV show. Usually, we set the washing machine to dry off the clothes for five to eight minutes, right? But it turns out that the main point is to dry laundry off for one minute. Set the machine to one minute, then shake the wet clothes up and down pretty thoroughly. Then hang the wash up to dry. Once they're dry, you'll find wrinkle-free clothes!
ab & Someya: Is that so??
Nakagawa: Yeah, its so cool! At first I thought I that it might stretch out my clothes. But its totally fine if I fluff out the clothes, while holding onto the sides and the shoulders. It's a lot of fun to see the clothes dry out by the next day (lol)!
Someya: No creases! That's so cool (lol)!

It would be great if we could take a journey through space together!
ab: Thank you for sharing such great stories with us (lol)! Before we wrap things up, do you have a message for the asianbeat readers?
Someya: The "Galaxy Express 999" stage show is kind of like a national production. We are hoping that the performance will last long in the hearts and minds of all the audiences. It would be fantastic if all the people who come to watch the show are able to make great summertime memories in the process!
Nakagawa: A certain philosophy runs through the story. As does Leiji Matsumoto's philosophy. It contains a message that we can all think about in 2018. Mr. Matsumoto has given me several hints and ideas for how to approach Tetsuro in 2018. It's not just me, I think emotions will be stirred up among the audience who come to see the performance.
Its also a Japanese original production! Often the plays and musicals from overseas are performed in Japan once the rights have been purchased. But this time, the story was born in Japan! We will embark on an adventure through the universe starting here in Kyushu, the birthplace of this famous work! I hope all the asianbeat readers get to experience this unique stage version of "Galaxy Express 999." It would be great if we could take a journey through space together!
