Vocaloid Cosplayer Diary ~Caruto~(7/9)
The event continued even after the contest was over.
After the winners were announced I headed back to the dressing room and feeling rather happy I began drawing Hatsune Miku on the white board. When Gekokujo Rin (Haruno) and Len (Ueda) came in and saw what I was doing they joined in and started drawing on either side.

Everyone’s drawings were so cute.
Everyone drew on their cups so they would know which is theirs. The Japan representatives’ (from Tokyo) cups were particularly cute.

I drew an animal’s mouth on the bottom of my cup and after the others saw it I started getting requests to draw ones for them too. I drew pictures for Kaname (wolf), Rou (cat) and Fay (rabbit). Mine was a puppy.

There really were a lot of Vocaloid cosplayers from a number of countries taking part in the event.

(L→R:Rikert, Kaname and Inui Tatsumi)
They each portrayed three different versions of Kaito.
I wrote the numbers 1, 2, 3 to reflect the ages of the three (1 being the oldest), but they all have such youthful faces you wouldn’t believe their actual ages.

At just before 5pm we headed over to Tenjin Central Park where I spotted the asianbeat booth and a whole bunch of local cosplayers. I was expecting to get so much attention and be asked for photos by so many people…it made me a little shy.
I had seen photos of Kaname before as he had been invited to events in Korea in the past but seeing him in person in a public park surrounded by people and having his photo taken, it renewed my admiration in him. Kaname called out to me to take a photo together and then Rikert saw us and we took another with the three of us.

I handed out business cards to the people who took my photo and most forwarded the pics to the email address that was written on my card. I was expecting people to actually send the pics though, so it was a nice surprise to get so many. I will take good care of all the business cards I received from other people too.
At around 5pm all the cosplayers and everyone who came to see the event all took part in the “everybody dance” performance. The song we danced to was “Happy Synthesizer” and although I wasn’t too familiar with the dance moves I did my best to keep up at the front of the line.
At 5:30pm all the cosplay representatives had a final meeting at asianbeat HQ.
We were asked various questions like how we found out about Vocaloid, how we made our costumes, how much money we spend on cosplay outfits, how we got into cosplaying, our favourite songs, who of the other representatives we formed a bond with, etc. We found out a lot about each other and each other’s countries during this time.
Each team were appointed an interpreter and across from us, the South Korea team, were the Thai and Japanese representatives. The Thai winner’s trophy was really nice.

My long hair was getting in the way so I tied it up.

The Izakaya Send-off.
After the meeting at around 7pm, we got changed to go out to an izakaya.

Left: Kahlua milk and rolled fried egg. Right: Salad.

Left: Fries and fried chicken. Right: A fluro cocktail.

Left: My second cocktail. Right: SZU’s “bomb” cocktail.

Left: Fresh sashimi. Right: Cheers to the winner and runner-up.
We all laughed and had a great time. Ever since I dressed up as Miku on this day everyone kept coming up and feeling my chest. I stuffed socks down my shirt to give Miku a bust. It didn’t even come close to the real thing. SZU and Aim in particular would come up to me and squeal as they felt my fake chest. Why, I wonder? (lol)

Taking photos with everyone at the hotel! The kappa inside the circle of hands is me.
