Grand Prize
Title: "First Place"
Manga artist: Pai-toon / Thailand
If your going to jump, you want to get as high as possible, right? Why are the people who finished second and third staring up at the sky with such surreal expressions? If you know the reason why, it will really make you laugh!

Comments from the Judges
● The moment I saw this entry, I laughed so hard... It was almost a case of "byosatsu (instant victory)!" That's a term used in martial arts when the result of a contest is decided in a very short period of time. I don't think "Sato Yuma" (the person who finished first in the manga) has landed yet!
● I think the artist is skilled at wordplay and very good at creating puns. I really enjoyed this work. It definitely deserved to win the Grand Prize... No doubt about it!

Overseas Participant Award
Title: "Jumping Frog"
Manga artist: Sagi / South Korea
● These frogs might be cute but they also have a serious quality. The way the story develops is surprising yet satisfying... It makes you feel like "Wait... What is going on?"

The punchline filled me with hope and energy. It made me realise the efforts of people I don't even know have helped keep me in good health.
Manga Museum Award
Title: "Wedding of former women's basketball team member"
Manga artist: Kujimagawa Nori / Japan
● This looks like a person who used to belong to their school basketball club. It seems like the drills from that time are still firmly entrenched in their behavior! The punchline in the fourth frame really grabs your attention!

I thought this was a really technical piece of work. It makes you laugh in two different stages. The story revolves around a smartly dressed women who starts moving like a basketball player in the second frame. The artist then brings everything back together by delivering a brilliant punchline in the fourth frame.
asianbeat FUKUOKA, JAPAN Award
Title: "Jump Family"
Manga artist: Dr.Bird / Taiwan
● Congratulations to Dr. Bird for winning the asianbeat FUKUOKA, JAPAN Award! It's so cool to see that even a snake without any legs can really jump... It all depends on your imagination!

Comments from the Judges
This is a really upbeat piece of work. It's about the positivity that comes from challenging oneself rather than looking on enviously at animals that were born with the ability to jump.
