EVA×COFFEE 690 million kcal
An outpouring of pathos UCC EVA canned coffee a huge hit!

I was once shocked when a friend of mine who had no interest in anime suddenly started singing A Cruel Angel's Thesis. “Do you like EVA?” I asked. To which he replied “It’s the song on the EVA pachinko game. I like it! It makes me want to see the anime”. It has been 15 years since EVA was first broadcast on TV, and the popularity has been supported by not only fans, but these kinds of collaborations with companies that create new interest. Recently these EVA collaborations which bring new surprises have entertained fans, and recent ones include a tie up with convenience stores, the fashion industry and even a tourist map of Hakone Town.
Among these EVA collaborations the one that is closest to EVA fans must be the UCC COFFEE Milk and Coffee Evangelion Can – AKA the “EVA CAN”. It first went on sale in 1997 with the release of the first movie, and in 2007 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone and 2009 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance had similar campaigns which were huge hits. In 2009 the campaign sold 6 million cans, double that of the 2007 campaign. Amazing! One EVA can (250gr) is 115kcal × 6 million = 690 million kcal
That is a lot of calorie-heat. Makes me excited thinking about such an outpouring of pathos (LOL)
