EVA×BD=No.1
How many viewers Number of fans growing – why don’t you take a look?

On May 26, 2010 the Blueray disc version of Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance was released and according to Oricon chart weekly rankings (from May 24 to 30) was ranked top with sales of 357,000.
Adding the DVD sales the total number of disc sales reached 640,000, with BD revenue ¥2.21 billion and DVD ¥1.72 billion making a total amount of ¥3.93 billion in sales. This is on par with the ¥4 billion in box office takings for Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. It is amazing how the passion for EVA has continued into the new century. In addition, the number of units sold 357,000 surpassed Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT which recorded 351,000 units.
You may think that it is only EVA maniacs buying the discs, but this is proof that it has a wide fan base. Even if you think it is a bit difficult and not your type of movie I implore you to take a look at the cinema. Actually, I was one of those who started late and only watched it after a recommendation from a friend. I am a Johnny-come-lately fan, but after watching the first in the series I was hooked!
There is something for everyone. For those who like to unravel the mystery and for those who just like the fascinating visuals. I highly recommend it!
