[MON and STAY’s "full-on" Fukuoka Trip] Miyajidake Shrine (宮地嶽神社)(7/9)

The 5th shrine, "Koi no Miya (恋の宮)" consists of "Awashima Jinja (淡島神社)" and "Nuregami Daimyojin (濡髪大明神)." It is said that Awashima-sama (Awashima Jinja) is the body of a woman and Nuregami (Nuregami Daimyojo) is there to protect her heart. The deity enshrined at the sixth shrine, "Sampou Kojin (三宝荒神)," is the god of fire and can control flames. As cooking used to be done with a furnace this deity is believed to be the god of the kitchen, food and cooking.
