#47 Lolita Fashion Show in Seoul, South Korea(1/13)
Previous | Next

A strawberry-themed buffet and a dak-hanmari restaurant... My tour of local eateries was so much fun!
This February, I went to Seoul, South Korea. It had been quite a while since my last visit. Seoul was colder than Tokyo, so I wore a thick coat and a thermal layer underneath to stay warm! Lolita outfits are usually worn in layers, which is good during Winter, but can be tough when Summer rolls around. We usually wear a pannier, so things can get super hot. Sometimes you just have to hang in there for the sake of fashion... You have to put in a bit of extra effort if you want to wear kawaii outfits. Don't you think?

During my trip, I participated in an event hosted by "Baroque," an awesome lolita fashion brand based in Korea. Several brands joined forces to help stage a fashion show, which was the main attraction at the event. But there was lots of cool stuff going on, including an on-site sales exhibition and signing sessions. I met over 70 lolita fashion enthusiasts at the event! It was such a fun experience! During the show, I got to wear a new Alice in Wonderland inspired outfit. The garments were very elegant. The outfit made me want to take a trip to Disneyland!

Baroque's designers are about the same age as me. I've known them for more than 10 years. Lolita fashion has given me the chance to make friends all over the world. These friendships have lasted the test of time. And that is something that makes me so happy! The day after the event, I took part in a a signing session at a Baroque shop. Even though snowed a little bit, a lot of people still showed up for the event. It seems that a lot of the people at the session had seen videos I post on my YouTube channel, which I only recently set-up. (Click >> HERE to check it out!)

Oh yeah, I also went to a strawberry-themed buffet at the InterContinental Hotel during some spare time. All-you-can-eat strawberry buffets are super popular in Korea right now! They also serve savory dishes like tteokbokki and kimchi fried rice... Real Korean cuisine! If you get a chance to visit Korea, don't forget to try dak-hanmari (chicken hot-pot)! Chicken bones are boiled to make the broth, which means that it contains lots of collagen. Garlic soy sauce goes great with it! That was not the end of my culinary experience... I also got to sample some tasty roast pork and stopped by a "sulbing (shaved ice shop)." My tour of local delicacies was so much fun!

Lolita fashion has given me the opportunity to visit locations all around the world and take part in so many events that promote cultural exchange. For me, sampling local cuisine and special delicacies is one of the most exciting parts of travelling. You can find so many different types of tasty food in Korea, so I would love to visit again when I do not have any work commitments. Thank you so much to all the people around the world who support me, watch my newly established YouTube channel, and follow my social media accounts. I will be updating them all soon, so please stay-tuned!
