An applicant from Japan known as Shirokuro was also at the ceremony to collect her prize for the work "Satsuma-kun no Gyakutama Keikaku" (Mr. Satsuma's Gold Digging Plan). Sougeisha President Yamamoto presented her with the award and commented that "It can be difficult to create characters that really leave a mark on the readers, but this work features some charismatic, interesting individuals."
