Much to the delight of manga fans, there was a jam-packed schedule!
The "MCPO AWARD 2017" Award Ceremony event was held at the Fukuoka City Museum on Sunday 14th May and featured a ceremony for the prize-winning works, which were selected out of 5,534 applicants. The event included an exhibition of all 78 works that made it through the public screening, as well as a talk from manga artist Koji Maki, who is behind popular titles such as "GOD SIDER," and Hiroshi Matsuyama, the president of Fukuoka game developers "CyberConnect2." There was also a live drawing session from Suu Minazuki, Koshi Rikudo and Takahiro Seguchi, who were on the judging panel for the manga section of the award.
