Le Thi Thai Hang [Vietnam Kawaii Ambassador, 2014]

01_☆thumnail_red_button_final_80x80.jpgI came across asianbeat by chance. One day in August a friend of mine introduced me to asianbeat, and sent me the information about the 2014 Kawaii Ambassador contest. My first impression of asianbeat was that it was a website being produced in 7 languages. So I realized the scale of asianbeat and the influence that it has on other countries and regions.

When I looked it up in more detail I realized that asianbeat was providing interesting information about Japanese culture and introducing Fukuoka prefecture to interested young people. I checked about the Kawaii Ambassador contest, which my friend introduced me to and it turned that those selected would visit Fukuoka Japan and participate in the famous Fukuoka Asia Collection (FACo) fashion show, which was being held in the spring of 2014. So I applied and began waiting every day for a response.

I was so lucky! I was chosen to be a Kawaii Ambassador as the representative of Vietnam and went to Japan in March 2014. In Japan I went sightseeing in Fukuoka prefecture, participated in FACo and was really happy to meet all the asianbeat staff. The asianbeat team kindly showed us around many places, from sightseeing spots in the city, to Dazaifu Tenmangu (a Shinto shrine of historical significance on the outskirts of Fukuoka). Thanks to asianbeat I was really warmly welcomed, and I’m grateful from the bottom of my heart to everyone who helped me spend five days in the land of the cherry blossoms!

After my visit to Japan, I have been allowed to participate in many events organized by asianbeat Vietnam. In January 2014 I took part in Cool Japan (an exhibition asianbeat participated in), and in July I also participated in a asiabbeat summer festival "KIRA KIRA NIGHT", where people were able to experience Japanese culture through activities such as learning origami and trying on yukata. I am so grateful to asianbeat for giving me such interesting experiences up until now.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone at asianbeat and send my congratulations for your tenth anniversary! Im praying for everyone’s health and asianbeat’s continued success.
