LANGUAGES AVAILABLE: ULTRA JAPAN 2017
ULTRA JAPAN 2017 marked the expansion of their movement by announcing a hugely impressive line-up on the newly established "LIVE STAGE!" Typhoon No.18 covered created intense circumstances for day one and two of the festival, but that did not stop the crowds really turning up the heat! The extreme weather of the first two days also added a sense of drama and increased the tension going into the final day! But there was a big turn around, and to the surprise of many, there was hardly a cloud in the sky on the third day!

But there was a big turn around, and to the surprise of many, there was hardly a cloud in the sky on the third day!
ULTRA JAPAN 2017 proved to be a huge success! Around 120,000 people attended across the three days. Check-out our report, which focuses on day three, to get a closer look some of the highlights of the festival!

■ULTRA JAPAN 2017 DAY3 [ 1/5 ]

The heavy rain and stormy weather from the night before meant that DAY 3 got up and running 30 minutes behind schedule, as some restoration work was carried out on the venue. As soon as visitors entered the ULTRA PARK STAGE, they found themselves in a section sponsored by the shoe company "Onitsuka Tiger." There were all kinds of items dotted around that featured shoes in their designs, as well as a live painting session, graffiti, and a fun-filled play area! As if to promise a fun day ahead, we were welcomed by these cool attractions from the very start! Let's take a look inside the venue!

ULTRA JAPAN 2017Visitors were greeted by this awesome "Onitsuka Tiger" section as soon as they entered the ULTRA PARK STAGE area!

ULTRA JAPAN 2017There was so many fun activities and installations for visitors to enjoy! Here you can see a couple of visitors playing table tennis! The tiger themed-table looked amazing!
TJO was first up and really got things going on the MAIN STAGE! Another top Japanese act that performed was Yasutaka Nakata, who created the official anthem for this year's ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL! Big name artists from abroad, such as GETTER, REZZ, KYGO, STEVE AOKI, and the final act of the festival TIESTO also took to the MAIN STAGE to the excitement of the huge crowd! Out of the four stages, you would have to say that this was the one that generated the highest levels of excitement and drew in the biggest crowds. The huge scale of the MAIN STAGE, as well as the incredible stage production, which included LEDs, lasers, CO2, and fire, instantly sent an incredible surge of energy throughout the entire audience! You probably won't be able to witness this kind of site at too many domestic festivals!

ULTRA JAPAN 2017DJ REZZ is an artists that has been gaining a lot of attention recently!

ULTRA JAPAN 2017Much like last year, KYGO's delivered a performance that was perfect to listen to while the sun was going down!

We were very keen to see STEVE AOKI's first appearance at ULTRA JAPAN! A few years have passed since AOKI was last in Japan, and that meant that has huge fanbase, which has been built up over many years, filled the venue as soon as he took to the stage. He began his set with an epic remix of "GHOST IN THE SHELL!" Navigating his way effortlessly through a range of musical genres, AOKI not only performed some hip hop tunes from his latest album, but also made sure to play a special tribute track to Chester Bennington, the lead singer of LINKIN PARK who sadly passed away in July. True to form, AOKI's energetic stage show saw some of the crowd get "caked!" To be honest... There was actually more like 10 cakes thrown at the audience! It was a typically fun-filled, unique performance, and it was clear that both AOKI and the crowd had an awesome time!

ULTRA JAPAN 2017The fans in the front row with the "CAKE ME" signs were clearly fans of STEVE AOKI, and came to the festival ready to be "caked."
