- Yamada Ryosuke visited Fukuoka...
Yamada Ryosuke visited Fukuoka to attend a screening of "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Saigo no Rensei (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation)"!

All eyes will be on the final battle with "Father"

"Fullmetal Alchemist" is a best-selling manga that has fans all over the world. The combination of charming characters, intricate storylines, and unique settings have helped generate a lot interest in the title. An early screening of the live action movie "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Saigo no Rensei (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation)" took place on Sunday 29th May 2022 at the T・JOY HAKATA cinema in Fukuoka City. Yamada Ryosuke (Hey! Say! JUMP), who plays the main character Edward Elric, appeared on stage at the event to speak with the audience! Yamada announced that he decided to wear the same colors as Ed for the event. He'd clearly been looking forward sharing his thoughts with the crowd... It was a wonderful interaction!
It is been four years since the previous film came out, so it is no surprise that there is a lot of excitement surrounding the new release. Yamada was asked how he gets himself pumped up. In response, he wryly stated "Every day I'm working on 'Yamada Ryosuke,' so I do not know!" He then revealed that the amount of weight he bench pressed during filming increased from 40 to 90kg! These efforts have helped him develop a strong body. Yamada also took a question about travelling in Fukuoka that was inspired by the adventures of the brothers in Fullmetal Alchemist. When asked what he would like to do in the area, Yamada immediately responded "I want to get some tonkotsu ramen!" He added "when I'm in Fukuoka on tour (with Hey! Say! JUMP), we often eat mizutaki." At this point, it seemed Yamada felt that he might be missing out on some tasty food! If Yamada or any members from Hey! Say! JUMP have not had a chance to enjoy tonkotsu ramen in Fukuoka, we highly recommend that they try a bowl when they are next in town!
The plot of this film focuses on the last section of the manga. Yamada, who is a big fan of the original manga series, discussed some of the stand out moments from the movie. He made a point of highlighting the final battle with "Father." Yamada told the crowd that this "scene helps explain the origin of the story." He added that "It is a delicate depiction of how human beings can become consumed by evil. It might take your breath away, so I hope you can concentrate!"

Yamada was asked what original image at the "Fullmetal Alchemist Exhibition" left a lasting impression. After considering the question, he chose the final battle with "Father," reiterating the significance of this moment in the story. Although Yamada initially declined the request to pose like the final battle scene, he eventually agreed. The first pose he struck was throwing a punch and the second was acting as if he'd been hit! It is worth going to the cinema to see how Yamada is able to embody the role of Edward with his entire being! "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Saigo no Rensei (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation)" will be released in Japan on Friday 24th June 2022! Make sure to check it out!
