The 2nd MCPO AWARD had over 3,600 entries! But which works were selected?
This year's competition accepted 3,678 applications (294 pieces of manga and 3,384 illustrations) from all over the world. A total of 16 pieces of manga and 46 illustrations were selected to advance to the final stage, which included a public viewing and feedback from the judges. Panelists Tochi Ueyama, Haruhiko Mikimoto, Takahiro Seguchi, Koushi Rikudou, and Eisaku Kubonouchi provided valuable insight during the critique. The judging panel gave their professional opinion to the audience, providing advice on how artists can attract readers by working on the content, composition, dialogue, and overall balance of their creations.
