What's going on inside "Kyuhaku"? Let's go and find-out!(5/9)
With exhibits changing over around 300 times a year, things are always fresh and exciting inside the “Cultural Exchange Exhibition (permanent exhibition) (4th Floor)

Under the theme of "Ocean Ways, Asian Paths," this exhibition focuses on the cultural exchange that has taken place between different countries and regions throughout Asia. The display further seeks to describe how the dramatic history of Japan unfolded amidst and through these interactions. Starting with Paleolithic Period and going right through to the opening of Japan (which signaled the end of the Edo Period), this exhibition is split into 5 zones, displays 800-900 precious cultural assets, features exhibit pieces that guests can actually touch, and thus provides a full, accurate picture of history. Dark and atmospheric, the exhibition space really conveys the intrigue and allure of history. Along with the centrally located "main exhibition area," which features items that were of crucial importance for the cultural exchange that occurred in various different eras throughout history, there are a total of 11 related and inter-connected exhibition rooms for you to explore!

Once you’ve entered the Cultural Exchange Exhibition make sure to check-out the centrally located “guidance area.” An explanation of each zone is projected on to a large wall, with information about how to best experience the exhibition.
