After you’ve taken in the exhibitions why not relax at the "Cafe & Restaurant" (1st floor)

If you've taken in the two exhibition rooms and stopped by Ajippa, as well as the museum shop, why not stop by the Café & Restaurant for a cup of tea? The Open Café inside the Entrance Hall on the 1st floor is the perfect spot to relax and bathe in the natural light from above.

Once you exit the "Rainbow Tunnel" you will come across the "Green House" restaurant, which is managed by Hotel Okura, on your right-hand side. Inside you'll discover limited-time offer menus that are designed to match the themes of the exhibitions on display inside the Special Exhibition Gallery.

With a selection of some the finest treasures and artifacts out there, alongside a collection of items from all over the world that are rich in both beauty and substance, the “Kyushu National Museum” has many hands on exhibits, which gives visitors the chance to get a real feeling for the grand scale of history that unfolded across Japan and Asia.

In the past they have held a tea ceremony workshop inside a tea house, as well as a “Gamelan” (traditional type of Indonesian ensemble music) workshop, to name but a few. Why not combine your visit to the museum with a trip to the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine? It's in such close proximity you're sure to have plenty of time to take a leisurely stroll around the shrine grounds. Make sure to visit!
