#34 First Interview with Hello! Pro Rising Stars, CAMELLIA FACTORY – Taking to the Stage in Lolita Fashion!(3/3)
Previous | Next

As you can see from the captions in the previous photos, I had the CAMELLIA FACTORY members write the names of the Hello! Project members that they look up to. Aside from current members, the youngest in the group, Asakura, wrote down Ai Takahashi.
“Takahashi-san has amazing expression when she sings.”
I too followed Ai Takahashi’s career closely, attending her concerts from the time I met her in Paris in 2010, up until her graduation in 2011. She was leader of Morning Musume。in the so-called “platinum generation” era and one of the key members, who I strongly believe, helped shape the mold of Hello! Project concerts today. And it brings me great joy to see what she created be passed down to the next generation like this.
I can’t wait to see CAMELLIA FACTORY’s first stage performance.

Yamagishi I’m nervous about tackling a show originally performed by Berryz Kobo, but I’m going to put a lot of effort in with the songs so that hopefully people will walk away saying, “I’m glad I came to see this.”
Ogata I play a male role, so I’m the one wearing pants amongst all the skirts. I thought my character would have more of a cool vibe, but because it’s lolita-themed, my costumes are really cute and that made me happy. It’s a different side of me than usual, so I’m ready to give a really energetic performance.
Kishimoto I’m also a big fan of Berryz Kobo and I think there’ll be a lot of comparing between the two performances, but I hope that we can make this a new “Thank You Very Berry.”
Lastly, I will include this message to the girls from costume designers Asako Mitsuhashi and Yuko Ota of KitaLoli:
“I was captivated by how neat and dignified you all looked! Make it a passionate performance befitting northern Japan’s lolita fashion.” (Mitsuhashi)
“Let’s show the world what CAMELLIA FACTORY and KitaLoli can do!” (Ota)
The musical, “Thank You Very Berry,” will be held at Ikebukuro Theater Green from October 8th.
