Located right in the heart of the city! This easily accessible restaurant is super convenient!

Udon Ōta
Established in January 2019, "Udon Ōta" is a restaurant located in the heart of Fukuoka's business district. The eatery is approximately a three minute walk from Fukuoka City Subway Akasaka Station. Most of the seats are at the counter, but the layout can easily accommodate diners eating alone or in a group.

The texture of the noodles are somewhere between soft Hakata style and chewy Sanuki variety. The surface is very smooth, which makes them easy to slurp up. You're sure to enjoy their soft, elastically texture. The restaurant currently uses a mixture of wheats from Hokkaido and Niigata to make their noodles. The special blend gives their udon a distinctive aroma. The menu features some classic dishes, such as plain udon (300 yen), niku udon (udon topped with meat / 520 yen), and gobo-ten udon (udon topped with tempura fried burdock / 480 yen). They also serve some unique dishes... The tomato tamago-toji (udon topped with tomato and egg / 500 yen), kurobuta negi (udon topped with pork and leeks / 700 yen), and mentai kamatama (udon topped with mentaiko and an egg / 600 yen) are well worth sampling! This establishment offers such a wide variety of udon! The special deals really help the restaurant stand-out! Diners who finish their bowl of udon can order a "kozaru (small portion of extra cold noodle)" for just 40 yen. Eating cold and tight noodle after finishing a bowl of the hot stuff is a cool experience! Comparing the difference is a lot of fun! This is not just a restaurant for noodle lovers. They have something for everybody! Be sure to check it out! The lunchtime menu features some awesome, reasonably priced set meals. For example, mentai-kamatama and a small bowl of rice is available only costs 500 yen. Or you could order gobo-ten udon with mentaiko and rice for just 590 yen. This place turns into an udon-sakaba (udon restaurant and bar) at night. Why not stop-by and enjoy a few drinks alongside a delicious bowl of udon!
