Yataro Udon / 弥太郎うどん

24 hoursーalways deliciousーan "udon theater"!

Yataro Udon is a long-established restaurant that has been operating for half a century. It is located at the Kokutai-doro Avenue (National Route 201), about a 2-3 minute walk from Tenjin Minami Station (Fukuoka City Subway-Nanakuma Line). The restaurant is open 24 hours a day except on Sundays (regular closed days), public holidays, and the day before regular closed days. What's most impressive is its generosity, as you can drop by at anytime from early morning to late night.

The classic Hakata Udon is a combination of boiled soft noodles and golden clear tsuyu soup. Here, you can enjoy standard menu items in Hakata, such as gobo-ten (tempura fried burdock) or Maru-ten Udon, Niku (meat) Udon, Ebi-ten (prawn tempura) Udon.

What's shining is the flavour of the golden and transparent tsuyu soup base. Since it is open 24 hours a day, used you may visit not only for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, but also after drinking, on a hangover morning, or when you only need a light meal! Perhaps Yataro Udon's underlying strength is the tsuyu that can always satisfy guests' needs in every situation. It has been run as an "udon izakaya" before such operating style became popular and widely known in Fukuoka. The restaurant offers approximately 30 types of Izakaya dishes at night. Nothing is more fulfilling than having a bowl of Hakata udon served with light tsuyu base after drinking!
