A cultural-arts complex where you can enjoy art and gorgeous garden!
Today we are introducing "Ishibashi Cultural Center", a cultural-arts complex built by Ishibashi Shojiro (1889-1976) in 1956 with the hope of regional development, which was later donated to Kurume City. The well-known global tire manufacturer "BRIDGESTONE" was born in Kurume City in the southern part of Fukuoka Prefecture and was founded by Mr. Ishibashi with the company being named after his surname when translated to English: 石 Ishi (stone) and 橋 Hashi (bridge).

Besides a large garden with seasonal flowers such as roses and camellia, a concert hall, a library, there is also a museum that mainly displays modern Western Japanese paintings of Kyushu related artists. Of which, the garden which is open all year round is a must-visit spot! During spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November) seasons, the full bloom fragrant roses will fill the garden with colours and attract many people to come see the view! Come and visit Ishibashi Cultural Center and enjoy a garden walk! And while you are there, don't forget to drop by "RAKUSUITEI"! A perfect cafe & gallery shop where you can overlook the Japanese garden and enjoy tea and desserts !
